Late Summer Picnic-Inspired Table Decor

I love Sonoma in the summertime. The days are warm and sunny, and the nights cool down comfortably (most of the time). I love the small town feel, with a focus on relaxed luxury that is a signature of Sonoma’s Wine Country.

Because I love a retro vibe, and am super into the current trend of fruits & vegetables as table decor, I found inspiration in Jack’s Filling Station, a cute little roadside stop that offers lots of gourmet goodies, a food truck, and gas pumps for all your Sonoma Wine Country road-tripping needs, and a great snapshot of a cutsie lil summertime table setting on Pinterest.

Below are ideas for a Vintage Picnic tablescape inspired by the color scheme and vibe of Jack’s Filling Station in Sonoma with links to the products.

The inspiration: an excellent pit-stop with a retro-vibe in Sonoma.

How to make it a tablescape, product details below:

The table-setting as shown: I love Theoni and found the linen, dinner plate, salad plate, bread plate, flatware, napkin, water, and goblet there. The taper candles and menus are both from Etsy as are those adorable little Linzer cookies (I love a cookie on a bread plate!). The placemats are from Chairish, the squiggly bud-vases in this photo are from Leif, the gold candle holders are from Amazon and even though I originally found the little pink votives on Walmart.com, they look like they’re out of stock, but you can find a very similar item from Koyal Wholesale.

When we’re talking about lots of guests and dressing a couple-dozen tables, the placemats and bud vases could feel aspirational. To save some cash, I love the idea of a tiny bit of DIY (just a tiny bit! In general, I recommend DIYing only ONE thing at your wedding if you absolutely need or want to create something) by painting squiggles on white bud vases. And for a lower-cost placemat with the same color pop, try these from H&M or these from Amazon!

Cheers to the last days of Summer!
